Seaside Photoshoot on the Yorkshire Coast

With Autumn fast approaching I thought now would be a good time to share these photos I took back in the summer of a lovely family down by the beach at Whitby. The colourful beach huts will soon be packed away to signal the end of another summer, and they provided a brilliant back drop for some of the Atak family’s photos.

Rebecca got in touch with me after finding me via google all the way from Dubai, but as is the way with Whitby we soon realised her husband, who was born in Whitby, had many mutual friends to myself. Rebecca asked for a set of photos which were relaxed and natural, and reflected her family’s personalities.

The shoot unfolded naturally as we made our way from the pier to the beach. I offered direction at times to make sure we got the required shots but it was great to photograph the family as they would be on a typical sunny day at the seaside.

We had a lot of fun shooting the pictures. Location shoots means you can capture a family authentically and not only this but it becomes a memory, hopefully a fond one, to look back on when viewing the images. This is especially important with young children who really shine if they feel relaxed.
