Looking back over this year’s weddings, I seem to attract laid back bride and grooms. But I think Joe and Kimberley were my most relaxed couple i’ve met to date! We met just a couple of months before the wedding for a quick tour of the venues, and to plan out the day.
As it turned out, a few of our plans for photos had to be changed last minute as after the ceremony the heavens opened and the rain started, and it continued heavily for the rest of the day!
It sounds cheesy to use the old cliche “The rain didn’t dampen their spirits” but it was clear to see that Joe and Kimberley couldn’t care less about the weather. We had some fun with the portraits with an umbrella at the church, our original ideas just weren’t doable in the downpour. Back at the Tipi we nipped out between deluges where we could to try and get some group shots.
The pair took it all in their stride and to be honest, the weather made the tipis with fairly lights and a fire pit even more cosy. The dance floor was packed out all night. A lot of the photos ended up being un-staged as the bride and groom were full of fun and always up to mischief, suggesting at the last minute that they do a role reversal picture where the bridesmaids held Groom Joe in their arms!
The guests were clearly having a great time and the party went on into the night.
I loved shooting the pictures of Kimberley getting ready at her farm in Scalby, she looked absolutely stunning in her dress and glitzy shoes, all the while being watched over by the families dogs. The whole day was warm and honest, and a real reminder about what weddings are all about.
I was over the moon to receive this review from Joe and Kimberley:
We had Ceri photograph our wedding in August 2016, she was amazing from start to finish. Nothing was a problem, helpful in every way, even down to planning our day for us. She never stopped despite the rain. The photos were turned around and back to us in record time, and to be honest we don’t have the words to describe the quality and emotion captured in every photo. Hundreds of beautiful memories captured forever, what more could you want from a photographer. All the best Ceri, thank you so much.
