Wedding Photography in Alnwick, Northumberland by Ceri Oakes
Debbie and Ross got married in December 2016, on the shortest day of the year – the winter solstice. The couple live in Newcastle and chose the stunning Doxford Barns in Alnwick, Northumberland as their venue.
As you can see from the pictures, the site is a working farm, complete with muddy sheep dogs and tractors! But the Threshing Hall, where the ceremony took place and the Great Barn for the reception provided a stunning back drop for this rustic themed wedding.
The Threshing Hall is a stone walled barn, large church candles lit up the fire place and the walls, and Debbie and Ross hired some large LOVE letters at the entrance which added some real sparkle.
With only four days to go until christmas, there were christmas trees lit with fairy lights in each room, which created a magical atmosphere throughout the day.
The bride and groom decorated the tables themselves using hessian, lace and wood for a rustic feel that fit in perfectly with the surroundings.
Just before the light began to fade we tentatively stepped outside for some portraits of the couple, we had some heavy rain (As you will see by the pair’s muddy Christian Louboutins later on!) so we stuck to the footpaths and made the most of the warm glow of the low winter sun as it set.
